The role
As a Quantity Surveyor, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You will be responsible for the management of cost and expenditure on building related projects (typically refurb, new build and M & E) across the contract, including construction related procurement and contract management activities, supporting company objectives of value for money and best practice in financial management
Day to day, you'll carry out a complete QS service from contract inception through to Final account on PPM, maintenance, refurbishment, and new build projects. Whilst provide accurate cost submissions to various clients, agreement of variations with contractors and Clients;
This role is 37 hours per week, based onsite at Chatham, with one day per week working from home available.
Essential experience of the Quantity Surveyor
Qualifications for the Quantity Surveyor
• Degree qualified in quantity surveying or comparable discipline, or working towards qualification
• Full membership (chartered) of RICS or similar professional body is desirable
The successful candidate must be able to achieve BPSS security clearance for this role.

- Provision of construction related procurement advice
- Oversee the administration of all costs associated with asset management activities, including interfaces with other departments as required

Essential experience of the Quantity Surveyor
- Experience of client facing roles, and able to demonstrate high level of technical delivery
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of the Construction Design & Management (CDM) Regulations 2015 and any further amendments
- Ability to offer sound advice on surveying matters and keep accurate records in support of audit trails.
- Knowledge on Mechanical and Electrical Services installations
- Must be a good team member with the ability to communicate across the spectrum with Clients, contractors, in-house management, Project managers, supervisors, finance, and procurement sections.
- Familiar with the JCT and NEC forms of contract and producing formal contract documents
