Senior Quantity Surveyor

Our client is looking to hire a Senior Quantity Surveyor for approximately 12 months.

You will have an excellent understanding of the specific requirements for Major Programmes +£100m and multiple and different professional services contracts in parallel.

You will ideally have current understanding of complex projects, accompanied with an ability to understand and interpret design drawings, specifications, works information/scope and other contract documents. Previous experience of working in a highly regulated environment is desirable.

Minimum Requirement:

• Quantity Surveyor background 5 or 6 years +
• RICS member
• Large scale construction projects background (Rail, Roads etc)
• Public procurement expertise (Capital projects for governmental agencies)
• Construction background

Key Accountabilities:

• Manage day to day commercial and contractual correspondence on projects of a complex programme
• Undertake cash flow forecast
• Perform risk, value management and cost control
• Advise on a procurement strategy
• Identify, analyse and develop responses to commercial risks
• Review costings for tenders returned
• Allocate task orders to consultants and contractors
• Assess requests for payment
• Chair early warning/risk review meetings
• Prepare variations and compensation events
• Provide advice on potential disputes
• Analyse outcomes and write detailed progress reports
• Demonstrate VfM
• Value completed work and arrange payments
• Maintain awareness of the different contracts in current use
• Month end reporting and financial reconciliation of cost and value summaries
• Undertaking feasibility studies, prepare and issue cost models where appropriate.
