We are currently looking for a dynamic Chief Investment Officer (CIO) to join the organisation’s Executive Leadership Team in delivering and executing strategic objectives. The role will be instrumental in the catalytic regeneration of places and driving programmes critical to the provision of housing supply and market health and diversification.

You will bring a track record of successful leadership within the UK Real Estate sector and have a laser focus on delivery, performance management and accountability.

Key accountabilities:

  • Provide intellectual leadership & advice to increase investment, and 'advocating' for the sector.
  • Influence new and existing market players and investors to diversify the sector through funding, industry partnerships, or delivery.
  • Proactively operate in institutional capital markets to maximise investment in the regeneration agenda.
  • Deliver an effective and efficient portfolio of financial instruments including grants, loans, equity and guarantees.
  • Cultivate and manage relationships with a diverse set of stakeholders.
  • Impact and stimulate market diversification.
  • Initiate, develop and implement the Investment business plans to achieve successful delivery of the future strategic direction, policies and business plans.
  • Provide engaging and inspirational leadership of the organisation to drive delivery of the Strategic Objectives.
  • Significantly contribute expertise to the development of innovative solutions to housing-led mixed use regeneration activity and be involved in the key decision-making meetings where these solutions are shaped.

 

Key requirements:

  • Chartered banker or Chartered Surveyor (or equivalent demonstrable experience) UK real estate experience
  • An appreciation of how to deploy capital across the capital stack (from grants, loans and guarantees to equity).
  • Deep understanding of financial and strategic planning
  • Skilled communicator and the ability to shape and communicate strategic vision and oversee development into a detailed strategy.
  • Experience in running a business, including the key financial dynamics and drivers.
  • Extensive experience of operating at Executive level.
  • Extensive inspirational leadership experience, including management of significant change agendas and adept at building high performing teams.
  • Extensive insight into financial market dynamics and investment issues and opportunities.

Desirable:

  • Experience of regeneration, development and land investment
  • Experience of public policy.
