Salary: Circa £60,000 depending on experience

The opportunity:

The Digital and Mobility Services (D&MS) team consists of over 30 procurement professionals based in the UK, France and Italy. We are part of a wider Indirect Procurement family of over 70 procurement professionals. The D&MS team is truly international and manages procurement at Group level for all software, services, hardware, cyber-security, networks, digital transformation & innovation, travel and communications. This role reports to the Group Head of Digital & Mobility Services and is based in the UK. The UK team is primarily based in Stevenage and Bolton. We accept applicants from other locations and adopt dynamic working.
This role facilitates Indirect Services and IT Procurement outside of our main locations of UK, France and Italy, collaborating closely with our colleagues in Germany, Poland and Spain, and with a major focus on developing and handling procurement for our overseas offices programme. MBDA is growing its global footprint and this opportunity is a key one in supporting our teams in setting up new offices, ensuring they run effectively and efficiently, and handling governance and risk.
There is a particular emphasis on IT infrastructure, and you will draw on relevant expertise within our wider Indirect team to lead services other services required internationally such as facilities, security etc. Whilst most support can be delivered remotely from the UK, there is a requirement for overseas travel to support our teams in country with onboarding and running supplier performance.
What we're looking for from you:
Previous experience of Indirect Procurement and the desire to work internationally and collegiately:
- The ability to act as a "business partner" to our collaborators
- Either IM skills or a wide range of Indirect category experience in order to make the link with facilities, security etc.
- Experience of ensuring documentation aligns with the encouraged level of quality (presentation of Gate Reviews, Contracts etc)
- A passion to develop business intelligence and company knowledge of supplier markets to ensure a supplier portfolio capable of meeting MBDA's needs in the short, medium and long term.
- Able to develop a purchasing/sourcing policy in accordance with the market, supplier roadmaps and consolidated MBDA requirements.
- Experience of running RFP's from inception to in-life, handling the contract life cycle on an ongoing basis and seeking renewal/re-tenders as appropriate.
- Optimise costs, implement cost reduction actions, report on savings and opportunities
- Developing and lead risk strategies
Skills required:
- Soft skills - a passion for learning and development, communication, engagement, encouraging, capable of dealing at any level with an organisation
- Ability to lead and develop strategies
- CIPS qualification preferred, or equivalent experience
- Working in an international environment (or keen to expand into an international role)
- Good knowledge of the IT industry and procurement/ability to adapt knowledge to international environment
- Understanding of risk management strategies
- Understanding of Contracts and key contract terms
- Supplier relationship management
- Use of E-Procurement systems
